Many of Gary's clients grew up religious, are neurodivergent, and/or non-monogamous which adds to his specialization. I believe that all humans have the right and ability to reach their fullest potential and embrace their wholeness. To support my clients with this, I practice an integrated approach to counseling, incorporating therapies that will help you access your brain, body, and mind with compassion and understanding. You can expect my therapy to draw from cognitive therapies, interpersonal neurobiology, parts work, and existential (meaning-making) therapy. I maintain a client-centered focus, allowing clients to determine their own goals and be experts on their own lives. My philosophy also incorporates themes of liberation, feminism, and client wholeness. Clients are encouraged to explore their relationship with these themes on an interpersonal and intrapersonal level. My clients are adult individuals who are typically struggling with issues of living such as anxiety, relational issues, and trauma. I am especially interested in working with people who are experiencing stress/grief/anxiety in relation to climate change.
I use she/her pronouns and identify as a white, straight, cis-woman. I am currently able-bodied, and living with recurring pain. I am a Pacific Northwest local and love this region for its trees, water, birds, and swimming season. I enjoy biking, hiking, camping and backpacking, birding, drinking coffee in the sun, and reading novels.

I primarily work with adolescents and young adults dealing with a change in life, feeling stuck, or struggling to deal with the stress of day-to-day life. You might be experiencing difficulties in your romantic relationship(s), feeling some part of your life is unfulfilled, or bogged down by sadness, loneliness, worry, anxiety, or stress. Maybe you have just gone off to college, begun a new career, ended or started a relationship, or moved to a new city. In any of these cases, counseling can be a way to turn a new page in your life. My goal is to build a trusting relationship that supports you in navigating life's complexities.
I work with clients in a collaborative manner to help figure out the best path forward– toward a life more closely in line one's values and aspirations. My approach to counseling is through a holistic lens, considering the ways that your environment, relationships, social systems, and traumatic or other lived experiences might affect you. I primarily draw my perspectives on counseling from an Existential Humanistic theoretical framework, while also finding influence from Psychodynamic counseling, and Motivational Interviewing. It can feel challenging to find support that feels respectful of one’s unique lived experiences while also being effective in bringing about change. As your therapist, I want to be someone who will appreciate the individuality and uniqueness of your lived experiences.
